An Academic Update.

I have just finished writing 3000+ words of my dissertation. Penat sungguh. Hopefully, Tracy wont reject any of the ideas or else I have to make major changes. It is tiring when you actually succeed in writing 1/3 of your dissertation only to be told that half of it is not relevant or appropriate. It makes you feel demotivated. I felt that there is no point of writing if people keep on rejecting your work. Yes, I know, they are trying to help, to make sure that we are on the right track. But, you do get tired, don't you? Especially when you think you can move on to a different chapter and moving away to different kind of books. Anyway, I have to stop whining. Whining doesn't get you anywhere, kan.

Can I ask for some favour from all of you? Tell me what do you think of this.

Characteristics and needs of young learners:

• young learners learn language through acquisition and learning
• young learners have the expectation to use the second language immediately
• young learners are competent users of their first language
• young learners have the ability to grasp meaning
• young learners have positive attitudes toward language learning'
• young learners need motivation to learn a second language
• young learners have the ability to use their imagination
• young learners have the creativity to use limited language resources
• young learners like to work alone but in company of others
• young learners have short attention span

Please, please tell me what you think. I want some opinion of others as well.
